MyProtein Impact Whey Protein Review
Before you scroll down the page to find out what result this whey protein gave me, let me tell you I rate a protein supplement based on the taste and how accurate it is with the labeling. If my whey protein tastes like garbage but gets a 10/10 on nutritional value I would still consider using the whey.
My review will be different than what you would see usually on other fitness websites. Firstly, I am not getting paid by Myprotein or any other re-seller to review this product. I have been using MyProtein products for the last 10 months and to be honest I really like their products.
We will breakdown this review into the following:
- COM Ratings
- Taste and Mixing
- Source of Whey Used
As you can clearly see from the image above, the impact whey protein is ranked at number 8 (out of 81 tested products). Even though the label accuracy is not 100 percent, it still excels elsewhere. Refer the image above for other stats.
I have tried the Chocolate brownie, Vanilla, Peanut cookie, chocolate smooth and a couple of flavours. Out of all the ones I have tried, the Chocolate brownie flavour felt and tasted the best. Since taste is subjective, I asked my friends to try out the other flavours and they seemed to like all the other flavours as well.
How does it mix?
Mixing has never been an issue with MyProtein products. But what I have noticed is the formation of froth on the top. It can cause some after taste for few people. The chocolate brownie flavour did not have lot of froth, but the vanilla and the other flavours did form froth. Otherwise, the protein mixes very well with milk as well as water.
Source of Whey Used
Whey Protein Concentrate (Milk) (96%) is the main source of protein used here. So, basically this is a whey protein concentrate. Even though it is not the leanest source of whey protein that you can get, it still has the same amino acid profile as isolate whey would have. Even though it is a concentrate, it has only 1g of carbohydrate and 2g of fat present in a 25g serving. Using a concentrate or isolate doesn’t actually make a difference for your long term muscle building goals.
This is one of the most affordable yet quality whey proteins available in the market today. You can buy a 2.5 KG pouch Impact whey protein for just Rs 4,799 INR on Amazon. This means that you are getting 21g of quality protein for just Rs 48. I think my protein gets a 10/10 for pricing their products.
